Darts Tournament 

The end of December saw the 2011 Inn with the Well singles Darts Tournament. After hours of multi-board action Pat Mason emerged triumphant and added his name to the long and distinguished list of previous winners (all three of them)! The crowd’s favourite, however, was surely Phil who fought back from a first round defeat to claim the plate tournament (guess who wrote this???)! All eyes now turn back to our on-going dart’s ladder. 

Darts & Music Quiz 

During the month of December we had our Darts Quiz, with Donzil and Andy Harrop claiming Bully’s Star Prize of a bottle of fine port each! A shout out must also go to Alastair who won himself an extra small Inn with the Well shirt and a chocolate bar! The same month saw the our fantastic music quiz, which was brilliantly organised by Mr Kevin Akers. The team of Richard Thomas, Tom Hepple, Anna Hepple & Jenny Hepple came out on top (mainly due to Tom’s infinite knowledge of 1990’s dance music!). A big thank-you to all who participated in these events because together they saw us raise a terrific £181.37 for Prospect!

Christmas Day 

Great to see so many faces at the bar for a Christmas drink. Thanks to al the guest who partook of Xmas lunch. New Years Eve Angie and Andrew played out 2011 in style and for a change we had Auld Lang Syne sung properly and got midnight on the dot! Thanks to all who came in the spirit and dressed accordingly.

Tough session for the chef but a nice end to the winter festivities. 

6X Promotion 

This winter witnessed 6X fever grip Ogbourne St George with our 6 x 6X promotion with a weekend trip to the New Forest up for grabs. The winner was decided on New Year’s eve as Dave Brooks (an out-of-towner!!!) claimed the prize. Well done Dave! 

Bar Top/Cellar/Room Floor/Toilet Refurbished 

All the jobs that needed doing were done, thanks to Big Phil and Andy the pony tail, or setting up the bar and getting rid of the dust. 

Cask Marque 

We recently had our regular Cask Marque check and as usual received a 100% certification. 

Pig Racing Friday 

7th February 8.00’ish. Be there for fun and frolics. The guy who runs it is very amusing. 

Bistro Menus 

To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year we have a special package offer and several one-off menus on the weekend of the 10th & 11th of February. Details of these deals are attached to this e-mail, however accommodation and tables must be booked soon due expected high numbers. 

Mr & Mrs Quiz 

Friday 10th February also sees our Valentine’s Mr & Mrs quiz. So come along and put your relationship to the test and see if you are destined soul-mates or should just be mates. £5 entry per couple, proceeds will go to help for heroes and Prospect. 

Rugby Fixtures 

Show your true colours this February and March when the 2012 RBS 6 Nations Tournament gets underway. Almost every game (the one exception being the France vs Ireland game on Saturday 11th February) will be screened on The Inn’s big screen! OAP Menu/Double Discount 

Our Thursday lunchtime Senior’s Special has changed slightly in 2012. Instead of a set menu and price, senior citizens with a loyalty card, (available at the bar, please ask) will now receive a 20% discount on all items on our regular menu. 

Donzil’s Birthday 

The countdown to the event of the year has begun! No not the Olympics or the Jubilee but Donzil Cook’s 50th Birthday party! If you are lucky enough, expect invitations soon.
