St George’s Weekend
The return of our St George’s Weekend saw quizzing, spoofing, live music and ale galore hit the ‘The Inn with the Well’. We would thank everyone who supported us by coming to any of the activities and drinking our beer! And kudos to the brave few who drank our 7.5% Perry.
The cribbage season has now ended with both of our teams doing themselves and the pub proud. Respectable positions for both teams were secured in both leagues and it was a pleasure to host your meetings this year. Anyone who may be interested in joining our cribbage teams just let us know.
Our next quiz evening will be Friday 25th May and will see instalment number three of Kevin’s extremely popular Music Quiz. We have had two different winners to date, so gather a team of 4-6 players and come along at around 8.30pm to test your music knowledge from throughout the decades!
Bank Holiday Monday
We will not be altering our normal opening hours for the forthcoming bank holiday Monday. Therefore on 7/5/2012 we will be open from 4pm to 10pm.
In celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee this summer, the village is holding a scarecrow competition. A scarecrow must be designed and built with a ‘royal’ theme in mind. Cash prizes go to the best three entrants.
To all budding dart superstars, as mentioned in the previous newsletter Thursday evenings now host a friendly darts evening. These evenings are being played with a view to starting a team for the upcoming winter league.
Guaranteed fun to be had by all at our Wii Night! Create an avatar of yourself and compete against your local rivals in a wide variety of sports and games ranging from golf to boxing!
Jan & Gerry will be taking the reins for a week at the end of May as we are all skiving off! So treat them well and don’t miss us too much.
Thank you to everyone who generously gave money to our Help for Heroes charity box. It was collected recently and we raised £82.41! Again, thank you.
